Alvera M. Gottschalk, age 89, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2020. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Colby. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the local arrangements. She was born in Edgar, Wisconsin on May 29, 1931 to Michael and Christina (nee Brost) Nosbisch. She spent most of her life in Colby, WI where she married Arnold Gottschalk, the “boy next door”, in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1998. She is lovingly survived by her children William Gottschalk of Salinas, CA and Holly (Joel) Jacobson of Oconomowoc, WI. She is further survived by grandchildren Michael (Tiffany) Gottschalk and daughter Abigail of Salinas, CA; Adel (Craig) Peterson and children Avery and Clayton of Hidden Valley Lake, CA; Faith Jacobson, and Sadie Jacobson of Oconomowoc. She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Arnold; her parents; sisters Florentina Nosbisch (Ed Freund) and Lavona (Victor) Reigel; brothers Vincent (Bernadine) Nosbisch and Lavern (Pearl) Nosbisch. Alvera loved cats, crocheting, playing the slots at the casinos and spending time with her family.
