Anita was born December 14, 1932 in Wilmot, SD, to Alvin and Alma (Barlund) Christianson. She graduated from Wilmot High School in 1950 and married Dale Remund on September 30, 1951.  Dale and Anita raised five children and farmed in Lake Township for 57 years.  They built a new house and moved into Wilmot in 2010.

Anita loved her family immensely.  Children and grandchildren could always count on Nana to remember birthdays, anniversaries and other special events. Anita loved people, and they loved her. She was known to roam store aisles—not looking for things to buy— but looking for people to talk to.  She enjoyed traveling with family and going on bus trips—whenever and wherever she could convince Dale to go.

Anita is survived by her children: Dan (Robin) Remund of Larkspur, CO; Nancy (Jerry) Brown of Fairbanks, AK; Heidi (Dennis) Sweeney of Wilmot, SD; Lori Oey of Sioux Falls, SD; and Connie (Dennis) Harstad of Brookings, SD; sister, Sonja “Sunny” Zenk of St. Louis Park, MN; brother, Guy (Janet) Christianson of Spicer, MN; 15 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; parents; step-father, Arnold “Ike” Christianson; son-in-law, Dr. David Oey; and great-grandson, Leyton DeBoer.
