Cynthia E. Ashley
<p>Cynthia Elizabeth (Szela) Ashley, 75, passed away in her home on November 27, 2020 after a courageous battle against cancer. Cynthia was born on July 16, 1945 in Springfield, daughter to the late Elbridge and Evelyn (Lewis) Farnsworth. She was raised and educated in West Springfield, and was a graduate of West Springfield High School. Cynthia was social worker for over 20 years for her own private practice and worked in Springfield and also Arizona. She was ball room dancer, enjoyed pilates, and horse back riding with her family. Cynthia is survived by her beloved children Scott Szela and Wendy Gaunt and her husband Edward. She was the cherished grandmother to Eddie Szela Benton, Sophie and Emma Gaunt and Tyler and Jacob Dehaven. She will be dearly missed by her sister Beverly Ashley, Richard Farnsworth, and to all who knew her. Cynthia was predeceased by her partner David Allen Seely in 2009. A graveside will take place on Friday, December 4, 2020, at 12:00PM at Silver Street Cemetery in Granville.
