BOSTON: Anibal Valerio Aguiar, 78, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of 53 years to Maria Ines (Costa Botelho) Aguiar.

He was born in Achada, St. Miguel, Azores to the late Marcelino and Rosa (Valerio) Aguiar. Also, the brother of the late Gilbert Aguiar.

He was a member of the Massachusetts 385 Laborers Union and the St. Michael Club. Anibal enjoyed spending time with his family and beloved grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife Maria of New Bedford, are his three children, Anibal (Billy) and his wife Victoria Aguiar of Achusnet, Gilbert and his wife Jennifer Aguiar of Acushnet, his daughter Nancy and her husband Paul Rodrigues of New Bedford. Also survived by his six grandchildren Brett Aguiar, Nicole Aguiar, Nicholas Aguiar, JaydenAguiar, Cameron Rodrigues and Monica Rodrigues.

Visiting hours will be Friday, December 4 from 8 to 10 AM at the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home, 512 No. Front Street, New Bedford. Followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford. Due to the current restriction, only 100 people are allowed in the church at one time. Everyone must wear a face-covering. Interment at St. John Cemetery, Darmouth.
