Lorelei Alice Armstrong 1925 - 2020 Pleasantville, NY Lorelei Alice Armstrong, long-time resident of Pleasantville, New York, passed away with her family by her side at the age of 95 on Monday, November 23, 2020. Lorelei was born on February 4, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Adele (Oberhofer) and Alvin Berg. She graduated from Solomon Juneau High School in Milwaukee in 1942. Shortly after the Second World War, Lorelei met and married Gerald Armstrong, a returning sergeant in the Army, on June 24, 1949. They remained married for 50 years until his death in August, 1999. After high school, Lorelei began her working career as a retailer at Smartwear Clothing in Milwaukee. She ended her professional career in the Guidance Department at Pleasantville High School in Pleasantville, New York in 1980. Throughout retirement, Lorelei was an active member of the Pleasantville Women's Club and the Pleasantville Garden Club. She also donated her time to the Pleasantville Public Library and the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. She played Mahjong every Friday at the Pleasantville Senior Center. Lorelei had a regular lunch group for many years that met every Thursday at the local diner. She loved gardening, oil painting, crossword puzzles, the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with her beloved family. Lorelei is survived by her loving sons, Thomas Armstrong, of Naugatuck, Connecticut, and Jeffrey Armstrong and his wife Anne (Deveau), of Midway, Utah. She leaves behind her seven grandchildren, Tracy Massicotte and her husband Richard, Robert Armstrong and his wife Kristen, Erica Wilson and her husband Nathan, Daniel Armstrong, Gregory Armstrong, Emily Armstrong and her fiance Brent Tucker, and Kristin Armstrong. She also had five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Valerie, Jack, Cameron, and Charlotte, whom she adored. She is further survived by many dear friends, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Due to the circumstances surrounding Covid-19, a private family service is being held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT.
