Obituary

Robert “Bob” Thomas Webber

Robert Thomas Webber, 75, passed away peacefully Friday, November 27, 2020, at his home surrounded by loved ones after a painful and courageous battle with cancer.

Bob was born May 28, 1945 to the late C. Orlena and Norice J. Webber in York, Maine. As a boy he spent most of his time outdoors on adventures in the woods with his dog Ted, playing catch in the field with his friends and tinkering around in the shop with his dad. As he grew older he became very interested in working on and fixing cars in his spare time after meeting his lifelong friend Lawrence Wing. He worked the majority of his life in the construction industry, primarily as a laborer with Local Union 976 out of Portsmouth, NH.  He worked on the construction of Seabrook Station Nuclear Power Plant, Marshwood High School, the expansion of the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport runway, and a natural gas pipeline in southern Maine.

Bob married the love of his life, Tove Oian of Portsmouth, NH, on September 6, 1969 in Portsmouth, NH.  They remained happily married for 47 years until the untimely passing of his beloved wife Tove on May 6, 2017. Bob was a devoted father and husband who spent his lifetime providing for his wife and two sons, Jason and Justin, and later his five grandchildren.  He would have given the shirt off of his back to anyone in need.

Bob was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending and/or watching sporting events with his loving sons and wife.  Nothing brought more joy to him than watching his two sons play sports throughout their childhood in York. Bob also carried his love for the outdoors into his adult life and spent many summer weekends camping with his family in the White Mountains of NH at Totem Pole Park.

A man that could virtually fix or build anything, Bob loved to share his knowledge with his sons.  Many afternoons and weekends were spent in the basement or shed working on small to large projects. Not only did he share his expertise and knowledge but also many laughs and off-hand jokes were shared with his sons as well.

He is survived by his two sons and their families, Jason, Grace and Logan of Cape Neddick, ME and Justin, Meghan, Madeline, Landon and Odin of Warner, NH.  He was predeceased by his wife Tove Oian Webber, brother Paul Webber, and his sisters Eva Waitt and Marjorie Sloper.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a small, private service will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd, York.  A graveside service and ceremony will be planned for late spring 2021.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Visit www.lucaseatonfuneralhome.com.
