Schrantz, Thomas G., age 84 of Franklin, NJ, on Friday, November 27, 2020. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Thomas had resided in Hawthorne most of his life. A former member of the Hawthorne Elks, Thomas was a member of the Knights of Columbus, achieving the rank of Grand Knight. Throughout his life, Thomas had worked as a self-employed truck driver. Thomas was the beloved husband of Joan (nee Van Wyngaarden) Schrantz for 61 years. Loving father of Thomas Schrantz of Forked River, Timothy Schrantz and his wife Miluska Welsch of Hawthorne, and Tracy Mamarella and her husband Mike of Hamburg. Grandfather of Timothy Schrantz, Greg Schrantz and his wife Kristen, Casey Schrantz, Carly Schrantz-Welsch, and Megan Mamarella. Great grandfather of Miles Thomas Schrantz. Brother of Marilyn LaNeve of Waldwick, the late Joan Gahagan, the late Noreen Schrantz, the late Kevin Schrantz, and the late Jackie Schrantz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children. Friends may visit with the family at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue Hawthorne on Tuesday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral service and cremation will take place privately.
