<p>John George Tais, 83, of Mahwah, NJ (formerly of Oradell) died peacefully at home on November 25, 2020.</p> <p>John is survived by his loving wife Arlene, his two children John and his wife Leslie and Cathy McNerney and her husband Dennis, and his two beloved grandchildren, Kevin, and Julia McNerney. He is also survived by his sister Bernice Morgan.</p> <p>John was born in Bayonne and later moved to Oradell with his wife Arlene. He served our country as part of the US Naval Reserves and completed an 8-year commitment. &nbsp;He received a BS in Physics from Seton Hall University, and an MSEE from Newark College of Engineering. John began his professional career in Bendix working on aerospace design projects and continued with the marketing and sales of custom chip design for American Microsystems and the Tomen Corporation. After retirement, he loved to play golf in New Jersey as well as the Naples area of Florida. He was an avid sailor and later enjoyed boating with his grandchildren in Chadwick Beach, NJ, where he and his family have a residence.</p> <p>A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 29th, from 2:00-4:00PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. John George Tais, 83, of Mahwah, NJ (formerly of Oradell) died peacefully at home on November 25, 2020.

John is survived by his loving wife Arlene, his two children John and his wife Leslie and Cathy McNerney and her husband Dennis, and his two beloved grandchildren, Kevin, and Julia McNerney. He is also survived by his sister Bernice Morgan.
