Private funeral services for Mrs. Mary Etta Harris, age 104 of Cookeville will be held Tuesday December 1 in the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home with Jim McCaleb officiating. Interment will follow in West Cemetery (Burgess Falls). Mary Etta went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 27, 2020 at NHC Healthcare. She was born October 28, 1916 in Cookeville to the late Wade and Ella Shipley Farris. Mary Etta was a loving, caring and giving person and lived the Christian life. She was a member of Wilhite Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, make clothes, have yard sales, make doll clothes and furniture for her granddaughters. She also loved to cook for her family. Mary is survived by her daughter and son in law, Cathie and Jack Stewart; granddaughters, Rachel Stewart and Angie and husband Josh Tollison; great grandchildren, Audrey and Sophia Tollison, Joel (Katie) Rushing and Monica Sadler; four great great grandchildren; a very special sister, Thelma Farris Julian all of Cookeville; brother, Howard Farris of Florida and a daughter in law, Rose Harris of Cookeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Harris; son, Cecil Harris; daughter, Wanda Sue Hurd; two grandsons, Steve Sadler and Michael Stewart; granddaugher, Becky Rushing and a great granddaughter, Stephanie Sadler; and several brothers and sisters.
