Mary Joyce Cook

Mary Joyce Cook, 70, passed away on November 25, 2020. Born on July 15, 1950 in Siluria, Alabama, she was daughter to Charles and Lucille (Smith) Dover. On August 4th 1993 she married the love of her life, John Cook in Rockford IL. Joyce was a fun, loving person. She enjoyed things like carnivals, cooking, listening to country music as loud as she could, and maybe a little online poker on her tablet. She enjoyed doing local motorcycle rides with John, but mostly she loved spending time with her family. Her favorite times were when she was surrounded by family cooking things like fruitcakes, going on drives to see the Christmas lights in the winter, or vacationing with everybody when they could. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by those who loved her most, her husband of 27 years, John; her daughter Stacie (Felicia) Toohey; her grandchildren Lexie (Matt Egan) Holmes, Talyn, Calianna and Chloe Toohey, Araceli, Luis Jr. “Pumpkin,” and Aliza; her siblings Darla Dover, Mark Dover, Judy Campbell, Steven Dover and Larry Dover, Charles (Chuck) Dover Jr; numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends. She was predeceased by her parents, and daughter Amie Baldwin. Cremation rites have been accorded with Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be established at a later date. To send online condolences, please visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com
