Millicent Horn

Millicent Horn-Andrews, known to her friends and acquaintances as Millie Andrews, age 80, of Warsaw, went home to be with her Lord on November 28, 2020. She was born in Warsaw on June 1, 1940 to Owen and Florence (Quine) Horn also of Warsaw. Millie was a 40-year career teacher in the Warsaw Community Schools, teaching at Washington Elementary where she was a student in her childhood. She is survived by her husband, Dennis, and by her three children from a previous marriage: Phillip Wayne Paxton (Holly), Michelle Ann Melton (Don) and Karen Renee Horan (Arnold). She is also survived by five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, three stepchildren and six step-grandchildren. Millie was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Warsaw, Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club and various professional groups. She and her husband loved to travel, visit with classmates of “58” and “59” and to fellowship with their many friends and family members. She loved music and served her Lord at various organ and keyboard assignments in local churches. She accompanied the Optimist singers for several years. Her hobby in addition to the music was making garments as she was a very accomplished knitter. She was also active in the Salvation Army Auxiliary. A memorial service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church on Sunday, May 23, 2021 with a gathering from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. and the service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana. Those wishing to express their sympathy may give to Right to Life of Northern Indiana or to Salvation Army with envelopes available at the service.
