Robert Stuart Fisher

Robert (Bob) Stuart Fisher, 91 residing in Sandusky, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 26, 2020 in his home, surrounded by his four loving children. He was born June 27, 1929 in Columbus, OH to the late Stuart Fisher and Corinne (Cochran) Fisher. Bob graduated from North High School in Columbus, Ohio in 1947 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Ohio State University. He married his college sweetheart, Jean Wagner in 1952 and bravely served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After moving to Sandusky, Bob and Jean started their real estate business. They built the first new apartment building, located on Fulton Street in Sandusky, OH in over 50 years. Their management company, Mayfair Management Inc., has provided safe and well-maintained apartments in Sandusky, Ohio for over 55 years. Bob enjoyed membership in the Sandusky Jaycees, Homebuilder’s Association, Sandusky Yacht Club, and spent many happy hours golfing at Plum Brook Country Club. He served as the president of the Lions Club from 1975-76. Bob was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. Bob enjoyed boating on Lake Erie, the sunshine in Naples, Florida, golfing with his friends, and dancing with his wife, Jean, to Sinatra’s “New York, New York”. He was an avid Ohio State football fan, having season tickets and attending all home games in Columbus, Ohio. Bob was preceded in death by parents, Stuart and Corinne Fisher; sister, Evelyn Smith and loving wife Jean (Wagner) Fisher. Bob is survived by his four children: Nancy (Jeff) Porter of Charleston, SC; Scott Fisher of Huron, OH; Carol (Gary) Fratianne of Avon, OH; and Stacy (Michael) Tobin of Phoenix, AZ. Three nieces: Lynne (Dennis) Nicholson, Diane (Keith) Brown, and Martha (Dr. John) Truelson. Eight grandchildren: Bradley (LeAnne) Porter, Lindsay (Taylor) Powell, Curtis Fratianne, Corinne Fratianne, Grant Fisher, Michael Tobin, Christopher Tobin, and Katherine Tobin. Seven great- grandchildren with #8 on the way. Private family services will be held at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory in Sandusky. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The Family extends a special thanks to all the wonderful caregivers who helped us care for Dad through the years.
