Smithfield, NC: Mrs. Anne Elizabeth Blake Dunigan, age 89, formerly of Benson, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM-Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.  Rev. Glenn McCullen and Dr. Robert Cooke will officiate. A Private Committal Service will be held in Burgaw, NC. 

    Ms. Dunigan was born in Chowan County, NC to the late Norman C. Blake, Sr. and Lottie Britt Blake.  She was preceded in death by her son, Lewis Todd Dunigan, sisters, Mae Graves and Rae Blake and a brother, Norman C. Blake, Jr.  Ms. Dunigan was a retired registered nurse, retiring from Johnston County Mental Health in Smithfield, NC.  

    Surviving include her children, Clay Dunigan and wife, Sherry of Benson; LuAnn White and husband, Donald of Garner; grandchildren, Jason Dunigan, Josh Dunigan and wife, Betsy, Brian White and wife, Dayna, Michael White and wife, Kathryn, Patrick Dunigan and wife, Amanda; great-grandchildren, Harper Dunigan, Oliver White, Colton White, and Amelia White; one niece, Debbie Graves. 

    The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-10:45AM, Tuesday, December 1, 2020 prior to the service at Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Benson. 

    In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the SECU Hospice House PO Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577. 

       In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Face coverings are required for all services.
