Willa Lee Rudolph Obituary

Willa Lee (Parker) Rudolph, 74, of Arkansas City, Kansas, died at her residence on Friday, November 27, 2020. A private family funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1, 2020, for her and her husband, Larry, at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Parker Cemetery. Willa was born on June 11,1946 in Tracy, California, to James Dale and Lennis Lee (Hovater) Parker. She was the oldest child of two, and the only daughter. Her parents were involved in church ministry, and she grew up assisting and helping them. She graduated from Anderson Union High School in Anderson, CA, in 1964. She worked various jobs in California before moving to Kansas to be closer to her parents who had relocated. When she arrived in Smith Center, KS, she started working at the meat counter of Boogarts Food Store. She met her future husband here as he was also a store employee. Willa married Larry Dean Rudolph in Smith Center, Kansas, on September 3, 1966. They made their home in Smith Center and Ellsworth before settling in Arkansas City in 1972. In their 54 years of marriage, they raised five children. Willa was a homemaker, and after her children were in school full time, she started babysitting children in her home. She cared and loved for several children through the years. Seeing the “babysitting kids” advance through school, get married, and have children of their own brought happiness to her. She loved seeing them around town and hearing about their lives. Willa was a faithful attendee of First Assembly of God Church in Arkansas City, KS. Her faith was an integral part of her life. She loved the Lord and music that honored HIm. Survivors include her five children, Tammy (Tom) Westhoff of Norwalk, IA, Tonya (Brooks) Barta of Holton, KS, Tim (Michelle) Rudolph of Wichita, KS, Teresa (Scott) Dunagan of Olathe, KS, and Trina (Mike) Lake of Mooresville, IN. Her grandchildren blessed her life: Juliana Stahle, Megan (Sam) George, Kiley Westhoff, Mason and Tabor Barta, Trenten (Kayla) Rudolph, Taner (Rosie) Rudolph, Taryn, Jake, and Cade Dunagan, Jack Lake, and Trae and Jastyn Andrea. She dearly loved her one-year old great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Marie Rudolph. Other survivors include her mother, Lennis Parker of Arkansas City, KS; brother, Jim Parker of Anchorage, AK; sisters-in-law Colleen Ryan of Smith Center, KS, Shirley Rudolph of Mankato, KS, and Pam Rudolph of Troy, IL; and brother-in-law Kelly Rudolph of Salina, KS.
