Shawn Patrick Green (Dingle), 42, of Downingtown, formerly of Coatesville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. He was the beloved fiancé of Rena Davis.

Shawn was born on November 6, 1978, in Coatesville, PA, and was the son of John and Jill Green.  He graduated with Coatesville High School’s class of 97’ as their proud homecoming king! Shawn loved Coatesville. He was an outstanding athlete for the Red Raiders where he lettered and excelled at both football and baseball-#24.

Shawn spent 19 years delivering soda for Coca Cola. He was a dedicated employee and his customers absolutely loved him. Most recently, he was employed at Caln Township as a Public Works Road Crew member and he was happy to be “one of the guys”.  When Shawn wasn’t working, he loved talking about and watching sports. He enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia 76ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Shawn loved supporting all of his nieces and nephews at their sporting events. Shawn, dressed in blue and gold could be found on the sideline cheering on Audrianna at her sporting events! Growing up Shawn enjoyed fishing with his dad and most recently, he renewed that passion by spending quality time fishing with Audrianna.

Shawn was a man of routine and schedules. He enjoyed his 4:00 pm class at CrossFit Rocksolid, going to his parents for dinner and then heading home each night to his family, when he was no longer in “Dingle World”. On Friday nights, if Shawn wasn’t participating in Frosty Friday’s, he could often be found at home with fresh lines in his carpet, a cold Coors original, and a Yankee candle burning (most likely Vanilla cupcake) while he stood at the dryer folding his laundry. On Sunday, Shawn enjoyed taking part in “Sunday Funday” where he loved having a Bloody Mary and watching football.  Shawn took pride in the way he carried himself and you could always smell when he was around. His scent could fill a room and if you were close enough to him, he made sure that you smelled his beard and knew that it was “fleeky”. Shawn was a member of Freedom Life Church and gave his life to Christ on June 2, 2020. Getting to know God became a big part of Shawn’s life. He was often found reading his Bible, reading his daily devotions, or worshiping to Christian music.

Shawn’s pride and joy were his dogs, Sarge, and Kane. He often said that he loved animals more than he did people. That may have held some truth, but Shawn loved everyone and was loved by all who met him.  Shawn was a loyal friend and was always willing to do anything and give everything for the people he loved. Most importantly, Shawn loved his parents. He loved surprising his mom with a cup of coffee or a Wawa hoagie. He will be deeply missed by those left behind, both friends and family. He is survived by his loving fiancé and best friend, Rena Davis, her beautiful daughter Audrianna Lewis, his beloved parents John and Jill Green, his cherished boy, Kane, his Aunt, Grace Woolfrey, his Uncle and Aunt, Mike and Joann Panik, and his cousins, Mike (Jeannie) Panik, Tracy (Greg) Hope, Kristy (Dan) Barulich and his godsons Seth Smith and Brandon Green.  Shawn was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Anthony and Jean Strichek, Great Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Groff, his Uncle, Bill Woolfrey, his cousin Pam Woolfrey Rock and his dog, Sarge.

We love you Dingle! As Shawn would say: “You leave me, you leave me for good” but his name and the memories we share will be cherished forever.
