<p>Carolyn L. Hortenstine, 91, of Ramsey, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at her home in Ramsey, IL.</p> <p>Private Family Graveside Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 29, 2020, at the Family Farm, Rural Ramsey, Illinois with Pastor Larry Daniel officiating. Memorials: Ramsey Community School Reading Program. Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL, is in charge of arrangements. Married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Bradley Hortenstine on December 11, 1949, in Mattoon, IL, he passed away August 16, 2004. She was a Homemaker - Farm wife and cooked many meals; was active in PTA; 4-H; Cub Scouts; Blood Mobile; Meal on Wheels and Bridge Clubs; and Member of Ramsey Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School for may years. Carolyn enjoyed playing Bridge, reading and especially reading to the children at school. She graduated from Mattoon High School and worked in accounts payable at Keeneys in Mattoon before marriage.</p> <p>Survived by: Sons - Marc Hortenstine and Andy Hortenstine & Joan, all of Ramsey, IL, Jake Hortenstine & Crystal, Herrick, IL and Matt Hortenstine & Monique, Effingham, IL; Daughters - Marcia Sargent & Roger, Ramsey, IL and Angie Young & Dennis, Vandalia, IL; 19 Grandchildren; and 29 Great Grandchildren; Brother - Bob Ballard, Charleston, IL and Brother-In-Law - Jake Hortensine, Mattoon, IL. </p> <p>Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Sister - Nina Eileen Davisson; Grandchildren - Daniel John and Luke Hortenstine and Valerie (Hortenstine) Sheldon.</p>Obituary
