Suddenly on November 27, 2020, surrounded by her loving family, age 92, of Homestead.  She was born in Homestead the daughter of the late Paul James and Bernice (Weiss) Kurzdorfer. Beloved wife of the late Paul Thomas.  Cherished mother of Ellen Olson and William “Bill” (Irene) Olson.  Loving grandmother of Sarah, Jacob and Max.  Special great-grandmother of Samaya and Sam.  Sister of Charles (Mona) Weiss and the late James (wife Georgia survives) Kurzdorfer.  Bernice was a sales clerk for Kaufmann’s Department Store, a member of Munhall Garden Club, she was involved with creating the Memory Garden at Carnegie Library in Homestead, and was the recipient of the Citizens Crime Prevention Award by Governor Rendell.  Bernice was a longtime member of St Matthew's Episcopal Church.  Family and friends received on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8PM at the George Irvin Green Funeral Home, Inc. 3511 Main St. Munhall 15120 (412-461-6394) where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Ray Ursin officiating.  Memorial donations may be made in Bernice’s name to the Humane Society of Pittsburgh, 6926 Hamilton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA  15208.  Please share your memories and condolences at georgeigreenfuneralhome.com.
