A graveside funeral service for Danny J. Purcell will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Grove Cemetery with Pastor Jason Manns officiating. Anyone attending services is asked to please wear a mask and social distance when possible. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Danny died on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Marion General Hospital. He was born on July 22, 1952 in Kenton to the late Robert and Dorothy (Myers) Purcell. On July 28, 1973 he married Ailsa Teeters and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are a son; Derek Purcell of Kenton, a daughter; Alyson (Nathan Weaver) Purcell of Kenton, a sister; Chery (Pat) Kissling of Kenton, 3 brothers; William "Bill" Purcell of Kenton, Bobby (Kathy) Purcell of Kenton, Tom (Amy) Purcell of Kenton and several nieces and nephews.
Danny was a 1970 Kenton High School graduate, and retired from Rockwell in Kenton after 30 years.
He was a member of the Amvets Post 1994 as well as serving as the current Commander of the Amvets Post 1994 Son Squadron.
Danny was a family man. His family was his pride and joy and he wanted to spend time with them as much as possible, especially his special needs son; Derek.
He was a car enthusiast, who loved to work on cars and restore them. He also enjoyed remodeling houses and working in his yard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
