Simon Powers Sharp

Simon Powers Sharp, age 72, of Fredonia, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at his home. Simon was born in Kenvir, KY on January 29, 1948, to the late Willard Sharp and Dorothy Powers Starks. Simon was of the Holiness Faith. Simon served his country in the United States Army as a Master Sargent and retired after 25 years of service. After his retirement he still had a passion for serving others, especially his fellow veterans, and was able to attend the inauguration of former President George H. W. Bush. He would later earn his Bachelors of Science degree from University of Louisville and work for the Workforce Development for the State of Kentucky. Simon is survived by his wife of 11 years, Betty Ann Miller Sharp; two step-daughters, Brandi (Lyndsey) Johnson of Nashville, TN, Angela Mullins of Marion, KY; one son, James (Becky) Sharp of Vine Grove, KY; one brother, Jerry Barnes of Harlan, KY. In addition to his parents, Simon is preceded by one sister, Barbara Spurlock. Private services will be held at Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville with military honors.
