Takako Miyashita “Satch” Sandy

88, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 25, 2020 to be with the love of her life, Walter E. Sandy Sr. and her eldest son, Lester, who preceded her in death.  She was born March 14, 1932 in Ishikawa-Ken, Japan.  She married Walter Sr. on July 12, 1958 and 3 children were born of this union.  Satch leaves behind, sons, Thomas (wife Dee) of Troy, Ohio and Walter Jr. (wife Janice) of New Carlisle, Ohio.  She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren.  Katie Sandy-Smith, Annie Bolton, Thomas Sandy Jr., Jordan Sandy, Michael Shrout, Valerie Montgomery and Cheryl Kincaid.  She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Megan & Michael Sandy.  Takako also leaved behind 16 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her dearest friends and next door neighbor of 47 years, Lula “Ma” Hill.  Satch was actively involved in community activities for over 4 decades, especially in connection with the Tecumseh School District, from the Park Layne Elementary PTO, Park Layne Elementary Library, Tecumseh High School Athletic Boosters and the Park Layne Wee Arrows.  She was a fixture at her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and rarely missed an athletic event, especially football practices and games, whether in New Carlisle or Jamestown, Ohio.  Her smile and enthusiasm will be missed by all those she met.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements by the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio.
