Darlene Helen (Dennis) Hart

Sis Hart was the fourth of the fifth children born to the late Albert E. and Anna A. Dennis of Havre de Grace, Maryland. She was educated in the public school system and attended Havre de Grace Consolidated.

Sis. Hart accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Havre de Grace, MD) under the leadership of the late Rev. Milton Phillips and the late Rev Herman Williamson. After moving to Fort Hood, Texas, she joined Westside Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas, under the leadership of Rev. Hallie Tolbert. She was an active member of the Usher Board and Choir until her health began to decline. She remained faithful and a contributing member until her death.

Sis. Hart started working at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. From there, she worked at Bata Shoe Company and Bloomingdales. She then started her civil service career at Perry Point VA Hospital in Perryville, MD, and then transferred to Hampton VA Hospital in Hampton, VA. She then moved to Stuttgart, Germany, and worked for the US Army in Supply. She finally retired from Darnell hospital in Fort Hood, TX. Altogether she had a total of forty -three civil service years.

Sis. Hart, also known by her loved ones as “Mom Mom”, had a caring and loving spirit along with a smile that left a long-lasting impression with whomever she encountered. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching game shows, shopping, and cleaning.

Sis. Hart was preceded in death by her late husband, Dean B. Hart, her parents Albert E. Dennis Sr. and Anna A. Dennis, Brothers Albert Dennis Jr., Gary Dennis, Sister Constance E. Dennis, and Grandson Brock S. Burke. She leaves to cherish her five children Karen D. Philips (Killeen, TX), Steven R.(Rose) Burke(Edgewood MD), Deneen C. Mason (Havre de Grace MD), Belinda S. Thompson(Killeen, TX), and Tiffany M. Burke ( Havre de Grace, MD ), step-children Bridgette Hamilton(VA), Montoun Hart (NY), Eurice Turner (TX) Brother Robert E.(Essie)Dennis Sr,(Havre de Grace, MD) mother-in-law Mabel Hart(Havre de Grace, MD), sister-in-law’s Beverly Dennis of (Aberdeen, MD) and Mildred Dennis of (NY, NY). She had 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
