Richard Boggess, 68, of South Charleston, WV moved to his heavenly home, Wednesday November 25, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. His family meant everything to him and he will be remembered as a loving husband, dad, poppa, papaw and brother. Richard was an accomplished wood-worker and loved karaoke, going to his camp, in recent years traveling with his wife and was famous for his mac and cheese, a family favorite that everyone looked forward to and enjoyed. He was also known for his willingness to help others, and was the recipient of the prestigious Jefferson Award in 1995 for helping neighbors during a major snowstorm. He retired from WV Spring and Radiator in 2014 after many years of faithful service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brady and Phyllis Boggess; brothers, Harold W. Harrison and Jerry K. Boggess. He is survived by the love of his life, Diana Boggess; his daughters, Angela Meninger of Charleston and Anissa Moss (Benji) of South Charleston; grandchildren, Kayla McCallister (Adam) of Nitro and Eric McCallister (Sarah) of Charleston and great-granddaughter, Raven “Papaw’s Sweetheart” Mullins and his siblings, Lloyd Boggess of South Charleston, Lorain Watson of Cross Lanes, Roger Boggess (Gloria) of South Charleston, Mae Sobataka (Jeff) of Salem, Va, Larry Boggess of Charleston, Brenda Lilly (Bob) of Dunbar and Dwight Boggess (Yvette) of Oak Hill and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a private service held for immediate family. He will be greatly missed.
