Eleanor Catherine Hellebusch (nee' Gildehaus) was born March 26, 1933 in Washington, MO to August and Dorothy (nee' Koch) Gildehaus. Surrounded by her loving family, Eleanor passed away at her home on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the age of 87 years. Eleanor grew up in Washington, MO and was united in marriage to Sylvester Hellebusch on September 10, 1955 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Washington and their marriage was blessed with six children. Eleanor was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Washington, MO. She had a good sense of humor to the very end. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, August and Dorothy Gildehaus and her beloved husband, Sylvester Hellebusch. Those left to cherish Eleanor's memory are her six children: Bonnie McKnight and husband Mike of Gerald, MO, Doreen Hellebusch of Washington, MO, Neal Hellebusch and wife Mary Ellen of Washington, MO, Donna Kuchem and husband Rich of Augusta, MO, Lori Kleekamp and husband Randy of Marthasville, MO, and Rick Hellebusch and partner Jerry Purvis of Indianapolis, IN; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Edith Holdmeyer of Washington, MO; two brothers: Don Gildehaus and wife Jean of Washington, MO and Jerome Gildehaus and wife Pat of Krakow, MO; four sisters-in-law: Bernice Kopp and husband Herb, Sister Linda Marie Hellebusch, SSND, Ruth Ann Lamke, and Celeste Highberg and husband Bob; one brother-in-law, Larry Hellebusch and wife Julie; nephew, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday, November 30, 2020 at 5:00 PM at Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO with Rev. James Theby officiating. Interment was private in the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery in Washington, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church or Masses. The Hellebusch family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO.
