<p><em><strong>Bennettsville, SC </strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>Russell Polson passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at his residence in Bennettsville. He was 79 years old. </strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>Born December 22, 1940 in Bennettsville, Russell was a son of the late Leon and Ancie Dell Perkins Polson. He was a member of the SC National Guard and prior to retirement had been employed with United Technologies and Oak River Mills. Russell attended Bennettsville First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He enjoyed Clemson football, NASCAR, and repairing and restoring cars. </strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricky Dean Polson; brother, Bobby Polson; and sisters, Barbara Jones, Lois Polson and Edna Jost. </strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>Russell leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Wendi Polson of the home; sons, Russell Dewayne Polson (Barbara) of Laurinburg and Wayne Davis of Florence; daughters, Regina Polson Turner (Dennis) of Bennettsville, Remona Polson Gibson of Blenheim and Charlotte Brock (Kipling) of Cheraw; sister, Sarah Garrett (Tommy) of Hartsville; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. </strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Chatham Hill memorial Gardens in Cheraw. </strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>The family will have a private family viewing from 4:00pm until 6:00pm Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Burroughs Funeral Home in Bennettsville.</strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>Online condolences may be made at www.bfhbennettsville.com. </strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>Burroughs Funeral Home is honored to assist the Polson family.</strong></em></p>Obituary
