<p>WEST SPRINGFIELD</p> <p>Luke Charles, age 35,&nbsp;passed away peacefully&nbsp;at his home on Monday November 23, 2020.&nbsp;Luke, son of Henry and Lucie (Gagnon) Charles, was born in Hartford, Connecticut&nbsp;and was a graduate of Westfield High School, Holyoke Community College, and Westfield State University where he received a Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Mass Communication. Luke was an award-winning photojournalist, winning several awards and recognitions over the years.&nbsp;He had a love for weather and meteorology, photography, dancing, pepperoni pizzas, and the New York Rangers.&nbsp;He felt a special connection to Martha&#39;s Vineyard, a place where many magical memories were formed with those he&nbsp;loved.&nbsp;Luke had an unlimited capacity to love family and friends, and always supported the people around him.&nbsp;He could make you laugh and always made people feel like they were the most important person in the world when speaking with him.&nbsp;</p> <p>He will be greatly missed by his loving family: his parents, Henry and Lucie Charles; siblings: Sarah Charles-Cherner and her husband Jarrett of Brooklyn, NY, and Eric Charles of Providence, RI; his maternal grandmother, Jeannine Gagnon; and many beloved cousins, aunts, uncles and friends he counted as family. Luke was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Lamar and Felicia Charles, and his maternal grandfather Raymond Gagnon.&nbsp;</p> <p>Due to the current covid pandemic, the family will be holding private funeral services. The family will be in touch regarding a future celebration of his life when we can come together safely. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: The Luke Charles Memorial Fund, TD Bank, 969 Riverdale&nbsp;Street, West Springfield, MA 01089. &nbsp;The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home in Holyoke is handling arrangements.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
