Laura H. Wishard Obituary

Laura H. Rowe Wishard, 84, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Thursday morning, November 26, 2020 at Paramount Senior Living Center. Born September 24, 1936 in Fayetteville, she was a daughter of the late Wayne B. and Gladys P. Swope Rowe. A homemaker most of her life, Laura was a life member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and had at one time been a member of the auxiliaries of the Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, Moose Lodge #842, and the Marine Corps League in Chambersburg. She enjoyed cooking, baking, putting together puzzles, and playing video games. Her husband, William O. Wishard, whom she married May 7, 1955, preceded her in death on June 29, 2017. She is survived by her son, William H. Wishard and wife Vicki of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Amber Wishard and Tucker Perry and wife Courtney; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Aria Perry; and two brothers, Glenn E. Rowe and wife Betty and Wayne J. Rowe. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lesa A. Wishard Sowers on January 5, 2016; her son-in-law, Robert Sowers on May 27, 2017, and her sister, Joretta Wile. The date and time of a memorial service to celebrate Laura’s life will be announced later. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department, 101 West Main Street, Fayetteville, PA 17222.
