Arthur Charles “Punch” Applin, 59, of Stamford, Texas passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 in Anson. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30th in the Stamford West Cemetery with Pastor Darren Willis Eulogist. Services will be directed by Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home. Arthur was born March 24, 1961 in Stamford, Texas the son of the late George Applin Sr. and Winnie Fred Cooper. He was a member of the Bethel Church of God in Christ. Punch attended and graduated from Stamford High School in 1979. Participating in all sports, he took great pride in being a Stamford Bulldog. He was well known for his cooking talents and loved to share them with family and friends. Punch enjoyed the outdoors hunting, grilling and family gatherings. He was founder and member of “Da Boyz” Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Deborah Cooper. He is lovingly survived by his daughter and son-in-law Trenishia and Michael Payne of Abilene; son James Applin of Abilene; grandsons Devare Payne, Dristan Payne and Mehkyri Payne all of Abilene; sisters Lynette Harris of Stamford, Dallena Willis and husband Anthony of Dickerson, Brenda Moore and husband Ernest of Sherman, Sybil Levi of Dallas and Martha Wilson of Abilene; brothers Clarence Whitfield Sr. and wife Mary of Abilene, Darren Willis and wife Cynthia of Odessa, George Applin Jr. of Abilene; Special brothers Otis Cooper, Classy Sims; nieces Annesia Cooper, Tamara Cooper, Deebra Cooper, Triolla Cooper and Lytoya Harris; other nieces, nephews and cousins; and a very special friend Debbie Franklin.
