Helen J. Sengle, 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Webster, November 24, 2020. She was the wife of Nelson J. Sengle, to whom she was married for 55 years. Helen grew up in Brighton and was a member of the Brighton High School Class of 1941. Besides being a homemaker, she found time to volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Girl Scouts, and Rochester General Hospital for 25 years. She was an active member of her church and enjoyed singing in the choir and attending family church camp . Her hobbies were camping, traveling, entertaining her friends, cooking, sewing, and crafting. She loved writing letters and sharing homemade holiday cards with friends and family. At Christmas time she would buy everyone gifts and loved watching their expressions when they opened them! She was a loving mother and grandmother and always made everyone feel comfortable with her smile and laughter. She was predeceased by her parents Ross and Marion Branch Gartshore, sister Vola (Tormod) Lund, husband Nelson J. Sengle, son Gregg R. Sengle . Survived by her daughter Kim (Scott) Rowe, grandchildren Skylar and Keaton Rowe, niece Karen (Orrie) Curry, nephews Marcus (Debbie) Lund, David Lund, great nieces Kristen (Victor) Sanchez, Lisa (Marcus) Killingsworth, great nephew Matthew Curry, cousins and friends. Thank you to her aides and staff at Baywinde Senior Community. And a special thanks to Marlene for taking care of her since moving in June of this year,! A private burial is planned.
