David C. Latimer, Jr, Obituary

Peacefully on November 26, 2020 at age 35, David Charles Latimer Jr (DJ) went home to be with our lord. Predeceased by his beloved brother Matthew Bostic. Dear father to his daughter Payton Marie and son Matthew Charles. Wonderful son to David Charles Latimer Sr. and Patricia Latimer. Leaving behind the love of his life, Shanna Latimer. David, born in Saint Petersburg, FL, attended Boca Ciega high school where he was loved by many. His charismatic smile and personality was evident to all, his senior class voting him “mister congeniality”. He was on the Boca Ciega golf team and later worked with Pasadena yacht club golf department while in high school. Graduating in 2003, he entered the U.S. Navy, where he became an Aviation Electronics Technician through Naval Aircrew Candidate School, Pensacola Naval Air Station. He also attended special operations training at SanDiego California, ultimately landing him at Naval Air Station at Whidbey Island Washington for the remainder of his service to our country. Arriving back in Saint Petersburg, he attended Saint Petersburg College before deciding to work alongside his father David at R&R Lawn and Landscape Services. It was the ultimate compliment for a father to work beside his son building the company together. In 2019, he became sole owner of the company, allowing his father to retire. His priority and passion in life was first and foremost his family, service to his country, and making his father proud in pursuing the family business. The greatest love in his life was his family. He was extremely proud of his two children. He absolutely loved watching Payton dance onstage, and absolutely loved coaching Matt’s soccer team. He loved fishing, golfing, taking bike rides with his family and them Gators, man he loved them Gators. He was a man that would help anybody at any time, under any circumstance. He was charismatic and adventurous, he had a zest for life. We know David is now with his brother Matt and he will forever be at peace. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations to David's children's college fund. Please make checks payable to College America and mail to 5133 102nd st N. St Petersburg, FL. 33708. The care of David and his family has been entrusted to David C. Gross Funeral Home in St. Petersburg.
