Jeanne M. Heisler, 66, died November 26, 2020. Jeanne was born March 24,1954, in Queens, New York, and moved with her family to Brick Township in 1958. Jeanne attended St. Peter School in Pt. Pleasant Beach (Class of 1968), St. Joseph’s (now Donovan Catholic) High School in Toms River (Class of 1972), and the Stuart School of Business Administration (1973), where she graduated first in her class.

Jeanne was President of The Ronan Agency, Inc., an independent insurance agency in Brick, New Jersey, until her retirement in 2014. She was a leader and icon in the insurance industry on Local, State and National levels. She held the professional designations of Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter, Chartered Life Underwriter, Accredited Advisor in Insurance, Certified Professional Insurance Woman, Associate in Insurance Services and Certified Insurance Counselor. Active in the industry for over 40 years, she served as the first female President of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New Jersey during its 100th anniversary in 1992. She had served on several national insurance committees for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America.

Jeanne also served as the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of NJ’s Government Affairs Representative, testifying before the State Legislature in Trenton on numerous occasions for the benefit of the industry. Throughout her career, Jeanne received an array of industry awards, including nine Presidential Citations, the Chairman of the Year Award, the Young Agent of the Year Award, and the Insurance Person of the Year Award; three AAMGA Industry Achievement Awards; and the State Outstanding Legislative Award in 2003.

Jeanne was an active baseball Mom when her sons played at Toms River East Little League. Jeanne was an active member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Toms River as well as the St. Joseph’s/Monsignor Donovan Alumni Association. Jeanne was a long-time member of the St. Joseph’s Century Club and served on the parish planning council. Jeanne was the driving force behind all of the St. Joseph’s High School Class of 1972 reunions.

In her spare time, Jeanne was an avid reader, and loved working on renovations at home and in her children’s homes. She loved to travel, play golf, and was the most organized person in planning an event. Jeanne was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and 76ers. Jeanne will be missed greatly by her family and all who knew her.

Jeanne was predeceased by her mother, Therese Ronan in 1999. She is survived by her husband, William Heisler, Toms River; her sons William Jr., Philadelphia; Christopher and his wife Caroline, Toms River and her granddaughter, Emma Grace; and Robert, Toms River. Also surviving are her father, Kenneth Ronan; her sister Denise Clayton (Timothy), her brother Richard Ronan (Mary), and her brother Daniel Ronan (Joi). Jeanne is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Donations in Jeanne’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association if desired.
