<p>Lottie Jean Ayers Guilford, 84, resident of 82 Woodhaven Lane widow of Sam Jefferson Guilford Passed away Friday Nov. 27, 2020 at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC.</p> <p>Born Nov. 7, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Earl Pelham Ayers and Qurdee Cleveland Ayers.</p> <p>She grew up in Abbeville, SC where she started teaching dance at the age of 14. She studied dance in NYC and traveled around Georgia and South Carolina Teaching countless number of children to dance. Her love of dance spilled over to her 2 daughters and granddaughter and they are carrying on her legacy at The Greenwood Dance Center (formerly Lottie Jean’s School of Dance). She met her late husband Sam on a blind date and loved him everyday from that day forward. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and teacher. She loved her family, friends, our dance families and students and most of all her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She touched so many lives and impacted everyone she met in a positive way. She always remembered peoples name and cared deeply for others. She treasured her memories and friends at Abbeville First Baptist Church and New Covenant Church. She was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. </p> <p>Survivors include: a son Jeff Guilford (Felicia) of Greenwood, SC; two daughters Jeanne Ware (Clyde) of Abbeville, SC and Jill Kagley (Larry) of Greenwood, SC; five grandchildren Matthew Ware (Lauren), Haven Amiri (Nak), Cade Kagley, Samantha and Jenna Guilford; three great-grandchildren Holland, Paxton and Maya.</p> <p>A Celebration of Lottie Jean’s life with family and close friends will be conducted Friday Dec. 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM at New Covenant Church with the Rev. David Harrell officiating. Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic face mask will be required to enter and social distancing will be followed. A drive by visitation will follow in the church parking lot.</p> <p>The family request please no flowers or plants in memory of Lottie Jean just memorials to RCRI PO Box 423, Due West, SC 29639 all monies raised will go towards building a girls dormitory at Nyabihu Christian Academy in memory of Lottie Jean or to Hospice of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Ave. Greenwood, SC 29646. </p>Obituary
