Wanda Lou Shingleton, 83, of Enterprise, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2020 after a brief illness. She was born at Enterprise on September 25, 1937, a daughter of the late Lewis Rosco Fink and Nettie Louise (Gould) Piggot. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Delbert Lee Shingleton; one son, Raymond Lee “Butch” Shingleton; and three siblings: Bertha Propst, Lewis R. Fink Jr., and infant Johnny Fink. Wanda Lou is survived by two children: Elizabeth Cottrill (Mike)of Enterprise, and Joseph William “Joey” Shingleton of Enterprise; one sister, Jean Burns of Enterprise; nine grandchildren: Vanessa Shingleton of Enterprise, Valerie Shingleton of Shinnston, Britney Atkinson (Jamie) of Mannington, Tina Looman of Enterprise, Stephanie Harman of Shinnston, Jeremy Cochran of Enterprise, Amanda Cochran of Enterprise, Joann Cochran of Enterprise, and Christopher Cochran of OH; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Wanda previously worked at Rockwells Greenhouse for many years and also attended Enterprise Methodist Church. She had a “green thumb” and enjoyed gardening and canning. Wanda Lou also enjoyed cooking, and camping at her “second home” in Franklin, where she just visited in September for her 83rd birthday. She was a mother figure to many children over the years that thought of her as a “Mom,” around her neighborhood and beyond.
