LALONDE, Marc Maurice: March 30, 1971 – November 22, 2020 It is with great sadness that we are sharing news that Marc Lalonde, passed away last Sunday. Marc was a beloved father and husband who is survived by his three remarkable children, Aidan, Devyn, and Liam, and his wife of twenty years Aileen (nee Shein). Marc will forever be remembered and adored by his sister Michelle McGregor, his aunt Celine Richardson (nee Gravel), his many nieces and nephews, his cousin Shawn Dowling and his wife Stephanie, sisters-in-law’s Sandy Shein (nee Kealty), Marcy Shein (nee Coutu), and Adele Shein (nee Ditomaso), brother-in-law’s Tim, Terry, Michael and David Shein and his mother-in-law Marlene Shein. Born in Timmins, ON, on March 30, 1971, Marc attended Carleton University in Ottawa before relocating to the west coast. Marc spent the vast amount of his professional career in the financial services sector and for the last ten years was as a small business owner and mortgage broker with Dominion Lending Centres. Marc loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. Whether it was cheering on his kids playing lacrosse or hockey, spending time with his wife and friends or golfing with his brother in laws – Marc always had a smile on his face and a relentless passion that made us all want to a be better person. Community was central to everything Marc did. He was a tireless volunteer in the Coquitlam community. In both hockey and lacrosse, Marc was a visible presence on the sidelines either as a manager or coach. He was also active in his children’s schools, his church and innumerable other volunteer projects. Marc was a trusted mentor and leader in the business community and to many a cherished and reliable friend. Marc was valiant advocate for mental health awareness and in reducing the stigma with this illness. After a courageous battle with mental illness Marc died by suicide on Sunday.
