André Villeneuve

Peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 26, 2020. Andre Villeneuve of Athol; age 82 years. Beloved husband to Mary Ellen Villeneuve (née McAlear). Loving father of Paul (Bobbi Jo), Sonia Martin (Gaëtan), Kevin (Glenda Lauzon), Andrea Blaine (Sean) and Shelley Anne Casselman (Josh). Proud grandfather of Benoit, Chanelle, Julianne and, Jérémie Martin; Brody and Alecsa Villeneuve; Avery-Quinn, Macauley and Rowan Blaine; Seoul and Kori-Anne Casselman; and Brenna Villeneuve. Dear brother of Odette Besner (late Harris), late Bernard (Françoise), late Léo (Marie Paule), late James (Lorraine), late John, Simon (Irene), Robert (Lorraine), Roderick (Claire) and Michael (Susan). Predeceased by his parents: Lionel & Simone Villeneuve (nee Villeneuve) and one daughter Carole Villeneuve (2006). Andre is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends; he was a passionate fan of the Montreal Canadiens. Friends and relatives may attend a controlled visitation at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 20 Main St. South, Maxville (613-527-2898) on Sunday November 29, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian burial which will be celebrated at St. Finnan’s Catholic Church, Alexandria, on Monday November 30, 2020 at 11 am. The Mass will be live streamed on the St. Finnan’s Facebook page. For those who wish to attend the controlled attendance visitation or Mass, must call the Funeral Home, Mon. to Fri. between 9 am & 5 pm, to register your attendance. Masks and physical distancing are required at all gatherings. Following Mass there will be a public burial in the St James Cemetery at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Andre a tree will be planted in a memory woods.
