Minnie Sweat White, formerly of Morgan County, TN Obituary

Minnie Leona Sweat White, age 96 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 26, 2020. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Union Baptist Church. Minnie was born in Sharp’s Chapel in Union County, Tennessee June 6, 1924.

Cooking, canning and gardening were a few of her hobbies but spending time with her family is what she loved best.

Minnie is preceded in death by her parents, George Thurman Sweat and Easter Tennessee Longmire Sweat, daughter, Conchita Hope Phillips, siblings, Emmett Sweat, Mary Elizabeth Harmon, Orpha Holloway, Jesse Sweat, Hubert Sweat, Brice Sweat, Bonnie Jones, Cloman Sweat, Howard Sweat and Stella Davis.

She is survived by two sons, William (Bill) Thurman White and wife Mary Jane and Wayne Thomas (Tom) White and wife Loretta, two daughters, Wanda Pearl Taylor and Kathryn Faith Ward. Nine grandchildren, Paul (Jody) Taylor, Monica (Dale) Brown, Cheryl (Dusty) Lane, Shawn (Nellie) Phillips, Tina (Craig) Napier, Vikki (Brett) Sandlin, Billy White, Felicia White and Brittney White, fifteen great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, best friend Carole Novak and three siblings, Verlin Sweat, Lucy Sweat and Houston Sweat.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 1:00 at Schubert’s Funeral Home in Wartburg. The funeral service will be at 2:00 with Reverend Mark Caldwell officiating.  She will be laid to rest near her daughter at Union Cemetery in Joyner.
