Jacqueline M. MacDonald Obituary

Jacqueline Marie (Pauletti) MacDonald of Scottsdale, AZ passed away peacefully in her home on November 24, 2020 after a brave battle with ALS.  She was born on February 27th, 1945 in Medford, Massachusetts where she was raised. It was at Medford High School where she met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Joe MacDonald.  They married in 1967 and have spent the last 53 years happily wed.  She spent her early adult years working for Hood Milk in Massachusetts and it was no surprise she won the title of “Miss Holly Noel” in a local beauty pageant.

In 1979 the family relocated to Scottsdale, AZ where she worked and retired from the Scottsdale Unified School District. While she held a variety of roles in the district, she spent the majority of her time as the secretary for the guidance counseling office at Coronado High School.  It was there that she met some of her dearest, lifelong friends.  During retirement Jackie immersed herself in her Catholic faith working a part time job at The King's House and volunteering with the OLPH Mission in Old Town Scottsdale.

Jackie loved to cook Italian food, go to musicals and sporting events, travel the US and Europe and most recently cheer for her favorite golfers as she and Joe watched them on TV.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Josephine, and brother Arthur “Sandy” Pauletti.  She is survived by many loving friends and family including her husband Joseph, daughter Kim, son Kevin (Julia) and her most beloved grandchildren Reilly and Kennady MacDonald.

Visitation will be held at Messinger Indian School on Wednesday, December 2nd from 4-7pm and a funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Thursday, December 3rd at 1:30pm. Virtual livestream of the mass will also be available at: www.olphaz.org/parish.  In light of necessary COVID19 precautions, all guests are asked to adhere to proper social distancing protocols and wear a mask during in person events.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in honor of Jackie to The ALS Association AZ Chapter www.alsa.org. Their support and care have been priceless.
