Raquel C Wise
<p> </p> <p>Raquel Castillo Wise, 91, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at her home. Raquel was born March 23, 1929 in Houston, Texas to Romualdo and Sara Castillo. She married James Wise on August 4, 1967 in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. </p> <p>Raquel grew up in Houston, Texas and attended schools there. She moved to Utah in 1965 to join her sister Lydia and both later moved to southern California. It was there she met Jim Wise and spent 35 years of their married life in Sylmar, CA. They later moved to Pleasant Grove in December of 2001. Raquel worked for many years as a legal secretary and later in education as an Office Manager of an elementary school.</p> <p>She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings including four times as the Relief Society President of her wards. </p> <p>She is survived by husband Jim of Pleasant Grove; two siblings: Richard (Gloria) Castillo and Lydia (Manuel) Acosta; her son: Michael (Sandy) Wise; three step-children: James (Victoria) Wise, Candy Chastain and Kevin (Karen) Wise; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings: sister, Antonia Lyons and brother, Romualdo Castillo. </p> <p>Family funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 11:00 am in the Mt. Mahogany First Ward Chapel, 1545 North 1300 West, Pleasant Grove. Due to Covid 19 restrictions masks and social distancing are required.
