Obituary

Sunday November 22, 2020, we lost the matriarch of our family. Phyllis’ Lord and Savior whispered that it was her time...he was calling her home to Glory.

Phyllis was born in Suffern, NY on October 18, 1934 to the late Wayne and Blanche Powell.

Phyllis was predeceased by Her Husband John E. Jackson [1988], Grandson Quincy O. Sam II [2002], Brother Wayne Powell sr. [2007], Sister Sheila Van Dunk [2006], Brother Frederick Powell Sr., [2011], Sister Maryellen Van Dunk [2008], Brother William Powell Sr. [2020].

Phyllis is survived by her Daughter Corinne McGee, Granddaughter Kaitelyne Sam, two sisters Evelyn DeFreese and Marva Woods. Grandson Antoine McGee, Grandson Jamaa’l McGee. Three Great Grandchildren, Quar’marion Cammon, Antoine McGee Jr., Skylah McGee.

Phyllis also leaves behind numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many Friends. Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother...nothing meant more to her than family. Phyllis had been a very tireless and endless volunteer; she was a part of the Hillburn Children's Recreation Center for many years...she loved working with all children.

Phyllis was also a very giving person, if she had it and you needed it...it was yours!

For all of those who really knew my mom, know that she loves you!

Phyllis’ wishes were to have no home going services, she will spend eternity alongside the love of her life. Unfortunately, due to this pandemic we will be having a small graveside service in NY at a later date.
MY MOMMY, HER GRAMMY, HIS Ms. P AND THEIR GIGI...WE ALL LOVE YOU AND YOU WILL FOREVER BE LOVED AND TRULY BE MISSED!
