Formerly of Mt. Lebanon, peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, at age 84. Beloved wife for 56 years of Earl J. Kohnfelder Jr.; devoted mother of Roger, Nora, John, Rebecca (Victor) Mikelonis, David, Olivia Kohnfelder and Lucy Yager; loving grandmother of Brendan Yager, Adelyn Kohnfelder; sister of the late John (Nancy), Richard (Marion) and Brian McGervey (Christine Kornosky); also survived by seven nieces and nephews. Mary attended Langley High School and University of Pittsburgh, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in French, and was part of Pitt Players theatre company. In the early 1960s, she began working at The Pittsburgh Press, where she met Earl. In 2001 she enjoyed a pilgrimage to several holy sites in France. Mary’s dedication to the pro-life movement was reflected in her many years volunteering for People Concerned for the Unborn Child and political campaigns, attending the annual March for Life and praying downtown as a sidewalk counselor. Friends received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on SATURDAY from 2 - 5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Bernard Church, 311 Washington Road on Monday morning at 10 . followed by burial at Mount Royal Cemetery.
