Robert 'Bob' Alkire

Robert L. Alkire, 93, passed away Sunday November 22, 2020 after spending the last two weeks at the Seeds of Love Adult Care In Livingston. Bob was born June, 26, 1927 in Livingston to Charles Ben and Ellen (Teichert) Alkire. Bob served in the Navy aboard the USS Kearsarge. He was discharged from the Navy in May of 1952. He married Linda Kamps on August 16, 1965. In 1967 they moved to Springdale where they have resided ever since. Bob suffered a stroke in 2003 which affected his speech and he developed dementia later in his life. Bob had a good life mostly working on jobs he liked. He worked on local ranches and farms and ran a string of pack mules in Yellowstone Park, and as a guide for his brother. He also worked road construction and as a lineman. Bob really enjoyed his hunting and fishing and spending his time out and about. Auction sales were a hobby of his. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, son Charles Barry, and two sisters Alberta Wood and Laverne Alkire. He is survived by his wife Linda and son Mark of Springdale, one brother Chuck of Big Timber and numerous nieces and nephews. A short graveside service will be held 1:30 Thursday December 3rd at Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston.
