Rolande Bernadotte, age 87 passed away peacefully on November 24, 2020 surrounded by her family at her residence after a long battle with dementia. She is preceded in death by her sister Raymonde Bertrand and brother Jean Bertrand, and one other family member Pierre St Rome. She was born on October 13, 1933 in Port au Prince, Haiti. She was the wife of the late Joseph Bernadotte whom she married on January 1959. Rolande loved people, always had a smile on her face. She was kind hearted and always ready to give a helping hand to those less fortunate. She used to yearly contribute much of her savings to multiple organizations for the poors. Her life was a living example of compassion, forgiveness to others, simplicity, hard work, resilience and devotion to her children and family. Her subtle sense of humor was unique. As a devoted catholic Rolande never missed her Sunday mass at her Church St. Angela. Rolande Bernadotte is survived by her four sons Joseph Bernadotte, Jean Bernard Bernadotte, Patrick Bernadotte and his beloved wife Murielle Bernadotte, Jacques Bernadotte. Her grandchildren: Alex Bernadotte, Thierry Bernadotte, Jordan Bernadotte, Brendon Bernadotte, Damali C. Bernadotte, Gabrielle Bernadotte, Jonathan Bernadotte, Aaron Moses, Sydaya Tomkins, Jadiel Bernadotte. Her nieces: Magalie Kernizan and her children Mondy, Alain and Didier; Danielle Douge and her Children Cynthia, Gregory, Stephane (deceased) and Vanessa. Her cousins: Eddy Rows, Harry Rows and Marie Ange Jean-Jacques, There will be a Viewing on Saturday November 28, 2020 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Riley-Antoine Funeral Home, 171 Humboldt Ave., Dorchester, MA 02121 and following the Viewing please join us to celebrate her life at St Angela Merici Church, 1540 Blue Hill Ave., Mattapan, MA 02126 for a Mass at 11:00 O’clock.
