Rosalie Lohman Obituary

Rosalie (Aberle) Lohman, 88, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the Apostolic Christian Home.

Rosalie was born in Sabetha, Kansas on October 20, 1932, to Emil and Mary (Burger) Aberle. She grew up in the Albany area with her five sisters and one brother; Arleta Wenger, Frances Aberle, Carol Mabie, Irene Aberle, Mary Ann Reiger and Marvin Aberle. She attended Albany Grade School and graduated from Sabetha High School with the class of 1951.

Rosalie was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Lohman on December 4, 1955. She worked alongside her husband doing various jobs. Their most enjoyed achievement was running their greenhouse and flower business called “Lohman’s Flowers” at their home on 220 Grant Street.

Together they created a backyard oasis and enjoyed spending time there with their family. Rosalie’s many talents included sewing and doing alterations for people. She loved teaching her granddaughters how to use the sewing machine. Her love of birds and nature were reflected in her many sewing projects. She will be dearly missed by all.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; her five sisters; one brother; and one son-in-law, Richard Bluhm.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Sabetha, KS; her son, Brian Lohman of Sabetha, KS; her two daughters, Gina Bluhm of Kansas City, MO and Tamra (Dennis) Studer of Sabetha, KS; her four grandchildren, Brantly (Sarah) Lohman, Elaina Lohman, Dayne Lohman, and Ali Bluhm; her two great grandchildren, Arya Lohman and Leah Lohman; and family friend, Kimberly Sue Hartter and her beloved pomeranian, Tazzy.

Rosalie will lie in state at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The family will not be present.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Albany Historical Society or the Apostolic Christian Home, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, KS 66534.
