Pauline "Louise" White Obituary

Pauline Louise White met her Savior face to face on Monday, November 23, 2020, at the age of 82. Her desire was to go to sleep and He would be there to take her with Him and that is exactly what occurred.

She had fought a two-month battle with a medical situation that none of her doctors had ever seen. But the battle provided too much and she gave herself to Jesus.

Louise was the youngest child of Adam and Ethel Gokey. She was fortunate to have found and married the love of her life while still in her late teens. She married Earl E. White on May 29, 1956, in Tecumseh. They lived a wonderful life until his departure on December 1, 2001.

Louise and Earl had three children: Tawanna White of the home, Reita Easley of Tecumseh, and David White of the home. She was blessed to have three beautiful grandchildren, Amber Giles and Jason White of Tecumseh, and Michael White of Norman. And then she had three great grandchildren, Blakely Giles, and Rhett and Kye White, twin sons of Jason.

Preceding Louise in death were her parents and husband, three brothers, Louis Gokey, Cyrus Gokey, and Adam Gokey, Jr. She had one sister, Emma Bernard, and one nephew who was like a little brother, Robert Gokey.

Survivors include her three children, three grandchildren and their spouses, and her beloved great grands. She is also survived by her older brothers, Leo Gokey and Frank Gokey, one sister Helen Littleton.  And there are so many nieces and nephews plus their generations, it would fill a book.

Louise loved Jesus and holding babies! She was an amazing cook, fry bread maker, afghan maker, bull riding fan, fishing, Antique Roadshow, and, of course, John Wayne movies. Louise could make you laugh without even trying and you always had a good time around here. She loved her bright colors, always had to have her dangly earrings on, makeup, and a perfect hairdo. She truly was the original Gokey Girl.  But the motivating factor in her life was Jesus. Her favorite scripture was John 3:16. She was a giver and a caretaker. She cared deeply for everyone.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2020 at Tecumseh Cemetery with Reverend Todd Tiffin, Tecumseh First Church of God officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. Please join the celebration of Louise’s life through Cooper Funeral Home’s Facebook page for live streaming of the service.
