On November 23, 2020, God so peacefully took home his faithful servant, John Christian Jr. All to Jesus he surrendered, all to Him he freely gave.

John Christian, the oldest of two children, was born to John and Pauline Christian, on September 25, 1933. He loved and cared for them dearly throughout their entire lives.

He married Evelyn Lowry on November 13, 1956, and out of that union, Leta, Kimberly, Michelle, and Pauline were born. Throughout the years they loved, and cared for their daughters, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Together their home was a haven of comfort for anyone who entered.

John Christian devoted his life to Christ as a child at Cedar Street Baptist Church of God and later re-dedicated his life at home in 2019. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his very devoted wife; four daughters: Leta Lott, Kimberly Michaels and husband Ian, Michelle Hargrove and husband Martin, and Pauline Christian; one sister, Theresa Woolfolk; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service was at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Rabbi Ian Michaels ministered to the family. Rabbi Ian Michaels, Martin Hargrave, Jonathan Cabral, and John Austin Young served as pallbearers. Burial followed at Christian Family Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Army and American Legion Post 281 of Piedmont.
