Napoleon Goodson, Jr. Obituary

Napoleon Goodson Jr. was born on June 7, 1940 to the late Napoleon and Lena Bell Goodson, Sr.

He departed his earthly home on November 25, 2020.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 59 years, Ann Eloise Harris Goodson; two sisters: Marie Goodson Thomas and Mildred Goodson Rawlinson.

He graduated from North Highland High School.

He worked as a Meat market manager for the majority of his career.  Including A&P, Food Fair, Piggly Wiggly, and Associated Grocers.  He was the community expert on the selection of prime cuts of meats.

He was the Worshipful Master of J. S. Brown Lodge number 162.

At an early age, he joined the Pink Lily Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member until his passing.

He was a member of the Gentlemen's Security Social and Saving Club (later the Ten Gents) which often hosted annual Mother's Day recognition programs.  Their community outreach also included transporting local youth to sporting events and families to various destinations on their charter bus.

His dream was to be a engineer and he was accepted into MIT but his dream never came to fruition.

He enjoyed cooking every Sunday for family and friends.  Grilling was his specialty.  He took joy in delivering home cooked meals to neighboring seniors, co-workers, and friends.

He loved to tell jokes but you always had to wait for him to finish laughing to hear the punch line.

To his friends he was Goodson or Nap.  To his family and siblings, he was Bubba.  But to everyone he met, he was a friend.

He was a dad to many of his children's high school and college friends and often woke with no complaints to a house full of whoever they brought home for the weekend.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted family; Three sons: Terry (Delores) Goodson, Cedric Goodson, and Napoleon (Belvelyn Ford) Goodson III, all of Prattville, AL;
