It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing and celebrate the life of Betty Jean Burks of Monterey, Tennessee on November 23, 2020, at the age of 78 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Sonny “Bud” Burks; children: Larry (Margaret) and Lisa Frasure (Mark); grandchildren: Kiley Allen, Ashley Callahan, Tashaunya Strunk, Brittany Frasure, and Miranda Turnier, and fourteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Calvin and Ola Mae Booher. Betty was also the last of her 8 siblings. 

She lived her life surrounded by love and hard work.  Betty worked preparing meals for those in need at Fairhaven Nursing Home in Sidney, Ohio, and also preparing meals for every friend and family that ever knew her. She was an avid canner making sure that all of her family’s pantries were well stocked. There was never an empty table when Betty was cooking. Her home was filled with laughter, love, and good ol’ down home.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Hospice and Silver Angels of Monterey. 

Funeral services will be held at Speck Funeral Home, Livingston with Bro. Tony Philips officiating at 2 pm, Sunday, November 29th.  Burial will be in Richardson Cemetery.  The family will welcome friends on Saturday evening from 5 until 9 pm at Speck Funeral Home.
