Abana Maria Jacobs, age 62 of Delran, NJ beloved, mother of Miles J. Davis II and Asia M. Davis, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2020 in Mt. Holly, NJ. Abana was born on February 28, 1958 in Hartford, CT daughter of Edward Reginald Jacobs and Phyllis Babkirk. After an honorable discharge from the Air Force and studying at the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science, Abana became a member of the Subaru of America family for 28 years, devoting her creativity, passion, attention to detail, and desire to improve the world around us, into the Subaru marketing and partnership events she managed over the years. Abana built lifelong partnerships with the following organizations that espoused the socially-responsible values she held dear: The National Park Foundation, Philadelphia Horticulture Society, TerraCycle, Greensgrow, Denali Education Center, American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Rodale Institute. Abana impacted the nation, spreading her love to millions of Americans through her efforts in programs like Subaru Loves the Earth, Subaru Loves Learning, Subaru Love a Pet, Don’t Feed the Landfills, Leave No Trace, Dining Out for Life International, Cherry Blossom Festival, Yosemite Facelift, and Philadelphia Flower Show. When not at work or checking in on family, friends, or co-workers, she could be found somewhere by the water, recalling Her memories SCUBA diving in the pristine waters of Philippines, contemplating her next seaside escape. Abana will be greatly missed by her children Miles J. Davis II and Asia M. Davis, mother Phyllis Babkirk, siblings Karla, Renee, Christopher, Edward and Jason, and her grandchildren Kaden and Kollin, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws who all adored Abana for her positive spirit, warm heart, and boundless energy. Abana was pre-deceased by her father, Reginald, and her brothers Mark and Lindsay. Abana was the embodiment of this quote by the late Maya Angelou, "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." Her life will be celebrated at Long Beach Island at a time and place to be determined.
