Regina Staubitzer

Regina Staubitzer (nee Griffiths), passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease on November 24, 2020. Regina was born to Dave and Mary Griffiths in Buchans on October 16, 1938. She grew up on Topsail Road where she met the love of her life Siegfried Staubitzer. Together, they raised their sons Dieter and Chris. They enjoyed a life of family, friends, adventure, and the outdoors. Regina endlessly supported her family with love and compassion, usually in the form of German and Lebanese cuisine. She is predeceased by her parents David and Mary Griffiths, her brother Kevin, and her twin brothers David and Leo. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Siegfried, who devoted his life to her and provided joy and comfort until her last days. She is also remembered by her siblings Carmel Power (Gerry), Barbara Hiscock (Paul), Dot Griffiths Crocker, and David Griffiths (Vicki). Her sons Dieter (Tina) and Chris (Karen). As well grandchildren Max, Mya, Peter, and David, and her nieces and nephews O.J., Jeffrey, Steve (Corinna), Karl (Teena), Jason (Melanie), Jessica (Robby), David, and Heather. Sharing in our grief is the extended Staubitzer family including Vera, Karl, Derek, Klaus, Rosewitta, Dieter, Martin, Ellenore and many others. Many thanks for the care and devotion of all the staff at 2 Southwest and 1 Southeast Pleasant view Towers. Their care for Regina extended far beyond what was required of them. Our gratitude for their compassion for both Regina and her husband Siegfried cannot be expressed with words. A special thanks to the staff of 2 Southwest who acted and became more of a family than health care workers. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions the funeral service will be by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. Donations can be made at www.alzheimer.ca.
