Valmond J. Ouellet Obituary

Valmond J. “Val” Ouellet, 76, of Gardner, died peacefully, Monday, November 23, 2020, in his residence, surrounded by his family after an illness.

Born in Saint-Ignace, New Brunswick, Canada, on September 22, 1944, he was the son of the late Fidele and Rita (Maillet) Ouellet. Val was a siding applicator employed by George Ouellet Siding for several years until his retirement.

Val was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was a member of the Acadien Social Club—where he enjoyed spending time with his many friends, and the Knights of Columbus Council #396, both of Gardner. Val was active and loved to go golfing, playing cards, and playing pool with friends. He enjoyed taking trips to Canada, Foxwoods Casino, and going on cruises. His true passion was hockey, especially his Montreal Canadiens. But time that Val truly and deeply treasured the most was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Val is survived by his wife of 47-years, Jeannita P. (Pellerin) Ouellet of Gardner; a son, Ricky J. Ouellet and his wife Christine of Templeton; a daughter Dena M. St. Pierre and her husband Russell of Winchendon; four grandchildren, Chandler Ouellet, Celine Pelton, Stephanie Cabral, and Beau Forgues; four great-grandchildren, Savannah, Anthony and Austin Cabral, and Rylee Forgues; two brothers, Rheal Ouellet and his wife Irene of Moncton, New Brunswick, and Yvon Ouellet and his significant other Pearl Campbell of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Julia (Bourgeois) Ouellet, who died in 1968; four brothers, infant Bernard Ouellet, Donald Ouellet, Bernard Ouellet, and infant Jean-Paul Ouellet; and a sister, Marie Ouellet.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
