Judy Lena Frances Iery

Judy Lena Frances Iery, age 76, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 4, 1944, at Quicks Run, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Belle McCann Iery. Judy was of the Christian faith and she attended Muses Chapel and Aills Christian Church with her family. She was a homemaker and caregiver. Judy enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music, old gospel music, watching old westerns, loved decorating and traveling. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Judy loved spending time with her family. She was an avid sports fan who loved the Cincinnati Reds, especially attending the David Iery Day and riding the charter bus to and from the games, and Lexington Legends games. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy Eugene Iery and Gary Iery, and one brother-in-law, Hobert McCleese. Judy is survived by three sons, Russell (Beverly) Iery, Myron (Brenda Sue) Iery, and David (Kim Wolpert) Iery, all of Quicks Run, Kentucky; one daughter, Carol (Richie) Cunningham of Tollesboro, Kentucky; and six grandchildren, Brandon Walker, Breanna (Michael) Applegate, Ryan Iery, Savannah Iery, Justin (Samantha) Cunningham, and Michael Iery; and five great grandchildren, Baylor Applegate, Maverick Applegate, Knox Applegate, Londyn Cunningham, and Kamri Miller Iery; siblings, Joyce McCleese of Mentone, Indiana, Shirley (Marvin) McCleese of Leesburg, Indiana, Charles Iery and Roger (Patricia) Iery, all of Quicks Run, Kentucky, Bob (Susan) Iery of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Janice (Roy) Polley of Quicks Run, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. A private visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, Kentucky. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the Muses Chapel Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky, with Brother Tom Cox Jr. officiating. Brandon Walker, Michael Applegate, Justin Cunningham, Ryan Iery, Michael Iery, Greg McCleese, Kevin McCleese, and Mark McCleese will serve as pallbearers. Zander Hartley, Jordan Applegate, Randy Iery, Nicholas Iery, and David Nathaniel Iery will serve as honorary pallbearers. Due to COVID-19 regulations, we ask that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing.
